Song of the Tribe: A Saura Chronicle
₹16,000.00
Their day begins with the call of the birds. Armed with bows and spears, the Saura tribe sets out into the forest. They hunt, they gather, and return with nature’s bounty, their prized catch the promise of a feast for the tribe.
As the sun descends, the rhythm changes. Music rises, feet move in unison, and the stories of the day find expression in dance and celebration. Labour, ritual, and festivity flow seamlessly into one another, each becoming a note in a melody shared by the community.
They live as one. One with each other and one with nature. From dawn to dusk, every harvest, every gathering, and every celebration becomes part of a living chorus. Woven through the everyday is the song of the Saura tribe, a chronicle of harmony, belonging, and a way of life carried across generations.
Saura art is a centuries-old ritual mural tradition practised by the Saura (Sora) tribe of Odisha, India. Traditionally created to invoke deities, seek protection, and celebrate bountiful harvests, it serves as a living chronicle of the tribe’s beliefs, rituals, and way of life.
